Thanksgiving Every Day

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands; Serve the Lord with gladness,

Come before His presence with singing!

Know ye that the Lord, He is God. It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves.

We are His people and the sheep in His pasture. Enter into His gates with Thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him for He is good, and merciful and His truth endures through all generations.

This is the very first bible verse that I learned and it is from the Living Bible translation(which i don't think still exists, but is similar to the NLT). And to this day, I can recall it from memory, even though I learned this when I was 5 years old. My brother Mike and I both had good memories and earned lots of rewards and prizes for memorizing bible verses. But what stuck with me the most was that we are to be JOYFUL in our praise to the LORD, and we are to be GIVING THANKS all the time, not just on the 4th Thursday in November. I just wonder how often we really take the time to thank the Lord for all he has done for us. We pray, but how often do we "follow up" with the Lord about the things we have prayed for. I try to just take moments during the day to just say "Thank you Lord."-Not even about anything in particular, but just to stop what I am doing and thank Him. I think if more of us did that, we would be happier and more humble people.
