Thanks for the Peace

I was curious about how many times the word THANK, THANKS or THANKFUL was mentioned in the bible. There are many translations of the bible, but I used the NLT (New Living Translation) because it is most similar to The Living Bible, which is what I grew up with and am most comfortable with. I also looked up BLESS, BLESSING AND BLESSED, which is a synonym of THANK, and came up with THANK iterations-125, and BLESS iterations-380, for a total of 505. And that is just one translation! In the more traditional translations, those iterations number even more.
So obviously this is a big deal to GOD, the concept of us humans being Thankful. Now there are lots of articles written on this subject, but I was really impacted by a sentence I read in one and have posted the link below...
Believers retain joy and peace especially when, "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6-7
This got me thinking that as humans we usually need to feel (at peace) which leads to us (giving thanks), when it should be the other way around, (we give thanks) which leads to
(peace of mind). How often do we go in search of peace when God supplies an endless bounty! In fact God has given us HIS peace and it's up to us to retain it, and we do that by being Thankful! "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all." 2 Th 3:16. When I have issues with my anxiety, this is what sustains me: That I have an endless supply of peace, and I just have to not let my anxiety block it. This has been a freeing concept for me and allowed me to accept that I will always have anxiety issues, but it doesn't have to have control me.
My next post will wrap up the theme of Thankfulness.
