Loud Love

Last week I talked about human love versus Godly love, and left a post note about discussing how to love others, even when they don't love you.

Love is huge, and strong and all encompassing, but I think love gets overlooked because hate and all the actions that stem from it (racism, bullying, physical assault), can be loud and “In your face.” Hate is harsh with jagged-edges that means to break down bonds and relationships. Love tends to be quiet and soft, with rounded edges, used to soothe hurts, and mend broken feelings. Love forges bonds and is the basis for relationships.

Sometimes it’s easier to let hate take over our lives, because it is all around us in the media, in our neighbor hoods and even schools. It can be overwhelming sometimes. But I say let's "LOVE LOUDLY". I say, no matter how hard it is, when faced with hate in all it’s forms, that we take our big bear hug that is love, and look hate right in the eye and say “My love for you is Bigger than your hate for me.” We as Christians are commanded to love, it doesn't mean that it has to be a quiet love. Let's flip the script, so to speak on hate, and drown it out with LOUD LOVE. I say do this as often and as much as you can, and let’s see what can happen.

Next week, how should we show love within a family?
