Cleansing Rain

We have all heard some version of the phrase..."After the storm, comes gentle rain." Well, I don't know about you, but the last 8 months have sure been pretty brutal mentally for me and my family. Yes, that is 8 months-all the way back to November, before the "Quarantine". We were actually looking forward to 2020, then bam, we are in the mix with everyone else. So the point I am trying to make is that I think we could all use some gentle cleansing rain. I feel like I need a new perspective right now and I need some peace of mind.
Hebrews 10 is divided into 2 parts, with verses 1-18 fully explaining Christ's sacrifice was done once for all, and then verses 19-39 being a call to persevere in faith. With what is going on in the world right now, I desperately need to be reminded that Christ did die for all, even those I don't agree with right now, and I need to be bolstered in my faith.
Hebrews 10:22 says..."Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
So I am choosing to start right now with asking the Lord to cleanse my heart-hence the poem. I feel like it is a good way to get re-connect with God on a deeper level. I feel that even during these troubling times, the Lord will use these circumstances to pull his people closer to Him and build down our faith foundations.
Next week I'm going to share another prayer that I think speaks to this idea as well.
